    Model 139-020 consists of Basic Valve(BALEM 130), Solenoid Pilot Valve and Limit Switch. It is installled at Outline of Deep Well pump to protect pipelines from surges caused by the starting and stopping of pumps.

    With the pump off, the valve is wide open. When the pump is started, the  valve begins to close slowly, discharging air and the initial rush of sand and water from the pump column to atmosphere. As the valve closes the pump output is gradually diverted into the main line preventing the starting surge caused by the stopping of the valve

¢º Sequence Of Operation

 

¡Ü Pump Off

   With pump off, the main line check valve "B" closed. Line pressure is transmitted through Outlet pilot "F" of Check Valve "B" ¢¡ Solenoid Valve 2 ¢¡ Flow Control Valve "C" ¢¡ the lower chamber of valve. The flow of Upper chamber through Solenoid valve 1 is vented to atmosphere so valve is held wide open

  

¡Ü Starting Cycle

   Starting switch closes, pump starts, the main line pressure of outlet pilot valve "F" of Check valve "B" is to flow Solenoid 1 ¢¡ flow control valve "D" ¢¡ Upper chamber of valve "A" and the valve closes, flow of lower chamber is vented to atmosphere through solenoid valve 2. Pumping pressure opens main line check valve "B", gradually permitting full flow

 

¡Ü Stopping Cycle

   Starting switch opens, Solenoid Valve 2 shifts flow, pump continues to run. Pump pressure flows into Outlet pilot "F" of Check valve "B" ¢¡ Solenoid valve 2 ¢¡ Shuttle valve "C" ¢¡ lower chamber of valve.
    Flow in upper chamber of valve is relieved to atmosphere through flow control valve and solenoid valve 1. The valve opens gradually as controlled the opening speed of valve. When valve opens, the limit switch shuts off the pump receiving an electric signal

 

 

¢º Installation

 

- Before installation, flush to clean pipeline.
- Provide adequate clearance for servicing.
- Arrow on valve body must match actual flow direction in pipe.
- Preferred valve installation, - upright, for horizontal position; others acceptable.
- Install isolation valves on both sides of control valve.
