Balem
431 is a float operated hydraulic liquid level control
valve suitable for tanks and reservoirs. Its working
principal is controling flow with a modulating float
pilot valve, alternatively a Balem 511 can be adjusted
up to 1.2m on/off differential. The body is coated by
epoxy to prevent contamination of the liquid, and has
excellent thermal resistance. The valve is extremely
easy to maintain as no special tools or skills are required.

¢º Principle of Operation
|

¡ß OPEN When
the water level in reservoir becomes low, the chamber
inside of body becomes in the condition of
atmospheric pressure as opening pilot valve, piston moves to upward
by the water pressure because the lower area of piston
is larger than upper side of disc and disc assembled
to piston opens at the same time and fluid can flow
toward outlet.
¡ß CLOSE When
the water level in reservoir reaches to high water level
just, pilot valve will automatically close. In this
point, the chamber pressure inside of body is same with
the pressure of inlet by water route through the chamber
and the liquid room of inlet, fluid flowing toward outlet
will close since disc closes valve seat as moving downward
by the weight of piston assembly and the power of spring.
At this time, liquid pressure by the area of valve seat
is total power of valve closing.

1. Refer to the standard piping diagram when installing the valve. 2. Before installation, finish to clean pipeline. 3. Only pilot valve made by Balem Co., Ltd may be fitted to this valve. 4. It is recommended that a strainer be installed to prevent the valve malfunctioning due to foreign particles entering into the system. 5. An alarm receiver system should be installed in the control room for early detection of overflow. 6. If the valve is to be used on high pressure, install a pressure reducing valve and automatic air vent valve in order to prevent water hammer and noise. 7. Do not fit a butterfly valve directly to the inlet flange. 8. The water level sensor must be placed as following order ; - Low water level(pump start) - High water level(pump stop) - Warning water level(alarm control fail) - Emergency stop(closing pilot valve)
